What to Do at Disney World Over Easter Weekend: Parades, Treats, and Bunny Magic

Easter at Walt Disney World 2026: Everything You Need to Know

In 2023, we spent Easter at Walt Disney World Resort, and honestly, it was the ultimate springtime trip. There is something so magical about being there in the spring, when the flowers are in full bloom and everything feels fresh and joyful. Not only did we celebrate Easter at Disney, but we stayed at Disney’s Grand Floridian in a Deluxe Villa, which truly felt like the perfect storybook setting for a Disney themed Easter. The pastel tones of the resort, the elegant details, and the beautiful lobby displays made the whole weekend feel elevated and special.

We made it a priority to experience every seasonal activity we could find, from the incredible Easter egg displays to the resort scavenger hunts and special treats around property. The attention to detail during the spring season is something Disney does so well, and it added so much charm to our trip. Between the festive decorations, the sweet surprises for the kids, and simply soaking in the atmosphere, it was one of those vacations that felt both celebratory and peaceful at the same time. It was such a sweet, joy filled trip that perfectly blended holiday traditions with Disney magic.

One of my favorite parts? Dressing the kids in adorable Easter outfits. When they’re little, you only get so many years to lean into the cutesy stuff, and I went all in with pastel monogrammed pieces, even their swimsuits. We wore our bunny ear Mickey ears, and I will always be a Disney ears girl. Now, let me be clear—you absolutely do not have to dress up, and no one should feel pressured to spend money on matching outfits. Just being at Walt Disney World is a huge accomplishment in itself. But if you’re looking to add a little sparkle to your trip and you’ve got some wiggle room in your budget, festive outfits can make those photos extra magical.

Surprise—we’re heading back again this Easter in 2025! This time, we’re doing a resort-only stay, so we’ll be sharing even more tips about non-park activities that still deliver the full Disney Easter experience.

Yes, Easter is one of the busiest times of year at Walt Disney World. The crowd levels are high, so if you’re heading to the parks, be sure to make the most of Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass, and my personal favorite Standby Skipper to help manage those long lines.

Now let’s break down everything you can do over Easter weekend at Walt Disney World, from chocolate eggs and Easter Bunny meet-and-greets to resort brunches and treats galore.

🍭The Grand Cottage at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

The Grand Cottage at Disney’s Grand Floridian

One of the sweetest surprises during the Easter season is The Grand Cottage at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Set up right inside the resort’s elegant lobby, this charming pop up shop looks like a life sized storybook cottage and sells seasonal Easter treats made by Disney pastry chefs. It is truly one of those details that makes you stop in your tracks. The pastel decor, oversized chocolate displays, and delicate sugar flowers make it feel like you stepped into a springtime fairytale.

Every year, Disney Easter treats are released with a brand new seasonal menu, and Disney typically shares a full foodie guide on the Disney Parks Blog highlighting all of the limited time offerings across the resorts and parks. From beautifully decorated cupcakes to specialty macarons and themed snack boxes, the Easter Foodie Guide has become something I look forward to each spring. It helps you plan ahead, know what is returning, and see what is brand new for the season.

In 2023, we picked up:

  • Carrot cake cupcakes

  • Chocolate bunnies

  • Miniature Easter egg shaped sweets

  • Coconut macaroon nests

  • Adorable Mickey themed spring cookies

Everything was almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

The Grand Cottage is usually open daily during Easter week and is a perfect spot to grab festive treats without ever stepping foot into a park. If you are doing a resort only stay, planning a relaxed arrival day, or just need a mid afternoon break from the hustle and bustle of the parks, this is such a peaceful and festive stop. You still get that seasonal Disney magic, the photo opportunities, and the specialty snacks, all without navigating park crowds. For families like ours who love to build in slower moments, it is one of those little traditions that makes an Easter trip feel extra special.

The Easter Parade at Magic Kingdom Park

The parades are not allowed months in advanced. Because Easter changes every year, the parade schedule changes every year too. Disney does not lock it into a fixed weekend the way they do with other seasonal offerings. That means you really have to pay attention as spring approaches.

In years past, the Easter Parade has been a colorful and joyful pre parade to the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Typically, this spring themed entertainment occurs the Saturday before Easter and on Easter Sunday itself, stepping off just before Festival of Fantasy on Main Street, U.S.A. Once you know the Easter dates for the year, you can usually expect the parade to happen on those two days, right before Festival of Fantasy rolls down Main Street.

Because the dates shift annually, your best bet is to watch the Disney Parks and Walt Disney World Instagram pages closely in the weeks leading up to Easter. Disney often announces limited time entertainment there first, sometimes before it is clearly outlined anywhere else. The My Disney Experience app and the Disney Parks Blog are also helpful, but social media is usually where you will see real time confirmation.

This special parade features:

  • Springtime inspired costumes and floral overlays

  • Elegant Victorian dancers in pastel outfits

  • Fun seasonal characters, including Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny

  • Occasionally, some rare characters joining in the fun

It is shorter and more intimate than a full scale parade, but that is part of what makes it feel so charming. If you want a good viewing spot, plan to be in place well before Festival of Fantasy, since the Easter procession steps off just before it. It is such a sweet way to celebrate the holiday inside the park, and because it is not guaranteed every single year, it feels even more special when it returns.

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny

Mr. and Mrs. Bunny 2023

No Easter trip to Walt Disney World is complete without a meet and greet with Mr. and Mrs. Bunny themselves.

You can usually find them at the Liberty Square Gazebo in Magic Kingdom, near Liberty Tree Tavern. This adorable springtime duo is dressed in their best Easter attire and makes for the sweetest seasonal photo opportunity. The setting in Liberty Square feels classic and charming, which makes the whole experience even more special.

One important thing to know is that these meet and greets are often very limited time engagements. Because of that, they are not always listed in the My Disney Experience app schedule. Sometimes they appear, sometimes they do not. That is why it is so important to ask a Cast Member as soon as you arrive at Magic Kingdom. They can give you the most up to date appearance times and let you know if the bunnies will be out that day.

If meeting them is high on your list, plan to head that direction earlier in the day. Lines can build quickly once word spreads, especially on Easter weekend itself.

Chocolate Easter Egg Displays

One of the most beloved Easter traditions at Walt Disney World is the display of elaborate chocolate Easter eggs, all hand crafted by Disney pastry chefs. These stunning creations are not just decorative. They are made primarily of chocolate, fondant, and sugar, and they are completely edible. The level of detail is incredible, and many of them take days, sometimes even weeks, to design and assemble.

These displays are not spread all over property. They are a resort exclusive experience and are typically found only at select Deluxe resorts.

Here is where you can traditionally find them:

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
The most famous and largest egg display is located in the main lobby. This is the flagship location and usually features the most elaborate, large scale designs. Themes often include current Disney films, classic characters, park icons, and intricate storytelling scenes.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Displays are typically set up on the fourth floor Grand Canyon Concourse. The designs here are detailed and creative, often inspired by Disney attractions and characters.

Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
These sister resorts usually feature their themed chocolate eggs near the lobby areas. The Beach Club in particular has become known for charming spring inspired designs.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
While participation can vary year to year, BoardWalk has also featured chocolate egg displays in recent seasons near the lobby.

These chocolate egg displays are not typically found inside the theme parks, and you will not see them at Value or Moderate resorts. They are a special seasonal offering at select Deluxe resort lobbies, which makes them feel a little more hidden and exclusive. If seeing them is on your Easter bucket list, plan time for a resort hop, even if you are not staying at one of these properties. The Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt at EPCOT

Flower & Garden Festival Over Easter

EPCOT Egg Hunt

Spring is in full bloom, the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival is thriving, and there is a soft pastel glow in the air. Yes, it is Easter time at Walt Disney World. One of the most interactive and family friendly Easter activities each year is the Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt, which is offered as part of the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival.

This seasonal scavenger hunt takes place around World Showcase and is such a fun way to slow down and explore each pavilion without feeling rushed.

Here is how it works:

First, purchase a scavenger hunt map and sticker set. In recent years, the cost has been $9.99 plus tax. You can typically find them at locations like Disney Traders near the Mexico Pavilion, World Traveler at the International Gateway entrance, and select festival merchandise kiosks throughout the park. Availability can vary, so if this is on your must do list, grab your map earlier in the day before they sell out.

Next, search around World Showcase for hidden Disney character themed Easter eggs. Each country pavilion has a large decorative egg featuring a specific character. When you find the egg, match the character sticker to the correct country on your map.

Once you have completed your map, return it to one of the designated redemption locations to claim your prize. The best part is that even if you do not find every single egg, you can still redeem your map for a reward, which makes this activity stress free for families with little ones.

In recent years, prizes have included character themed plastic eggs featuring favorites like Robin Hood, Marie, Genie, Patch, Cheshire Cat, and Dopey. The characters rotate year to year, which keeps it fresh and collectible.

This is such a fun, low key way to explore EPCOT during the Flower and Garden Festival. It naturally encourages you to walk the entire World Showcase, take in the topiaries, sample festival food booths, and let kids feel like they are on a mission instead of just strolling from pavilion to pavilion. If you are visiting during Easter season, this is one of those small but memorable extras that makes the trip feel even more special.

Easter Brunch at Walt Disney World: Where to Eat and How to Book

f you are headed to Walt Disney World for Easter weekend and love the idea of a delicious holiday brunch, you are in luck. Every year, a handful of beloved Disney restaurants serve up special Easter brunch menus. These are typically offered on Easter Sunday only, and they fill up quickly.

Pro tip: Easter brunch reservations open at your 60 day dining window, just like all other table service dining. You must be ready to book right at 6:00 AM Eastern, 60 days in advance. If you are staying at a Disney resort hotel, you can book for your entire length of stay at that 60 day mark, which gives you a small advantage. If you miss out, set dining alerts through services like MouseDining or Stakeout and keep checking the My Disney Experience app. Cancellations do happen.

Here is where you can typically find Easter brunch around Walt Disney World, along with a few year round brunch favorites that are always worth considering.

Steakhouse 71 – Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Location: Disney’s Contemporary Resort on the monorail line, walking distance to Magic Kingdom
Typical Easter Brunch Hours: Morning through early afternoon on Easter Sunday only

Steakhouse 71 has a sleek, retro vibe inspired by the opening year of Walt Disney World. On Easter Sunday, they often replace their standard breakfast and lunch menus with a specialty holiday brunch menu. In past years, this has included elevated comfort classics like prime rib hash, steak and eggs, specialty pancakes, seasonal pastries, and festive cocktails or mocktails. The atmosphere is polished but relaxed, making it a great pre or post park brunch option.

Transportation tip: Walk from Magic Kingdom or take the monorail.

Ale & Compass Restaurant – Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Location: Disney’s Yacht Club Resort in the EPCOT Resort Area near International Gateway
Typical Easter Brunch Hours: Morning through early afternoon on Easter Sunday only

Ale & Compass offers cozy New England coastal vibes. For Easter, they frequently serve a specialty brunch menu in place of their standard offerings. You may see seasonal twists on their popular chocolate waffles, shrimp and grits, or breakfast enhancements, along with Easter themed desserts. It is a fantastic option if you are staying at Yacht or Beach Club or entering EPCOT through the International Gateway.

Transportation tip: Walk from EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, take a Friendship Boat, or use Disney bus transportation.

Whispering Canyon Café – Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Location: Disney’s Wilderness Lodge in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area
Typical Easter Brunch Hours: Morning through early afternoon on Easter Sunday only

Whispering Canyon Café is known for its playful servers and hearty skillet meals. On Easter Sunday, they typically offer a special holiday brunch featuring expanded skillet options, seasonal breakfast items, and festive desserts. Expect large portions and a lively atmosphere inside one of the most beautiful resort lobbies on property.

Transportation tip: Take a boat from Magic Kingdom or a bus from any Disney resort.

Sanaa – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village

Location: Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Typical Easter Hours: Late morning through dinner on Easter Sunday only

Sanaa is not a traditional brunch spot, but it often offers a special Easter menu on the holiday. This may include unique African and Indian inspired dishes with seasonal enhancements, along with specialty desserts created just for Easter Sunday. The famous Indian style bread service remains a guest favorite. Dining here also gives you the chance to view animals on the savanna before or after your meal.

Transportation tip: Take a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village specifically.

Year Round Brunch Options at Disney Resorts

Even if you are not visiting on Easter Sunday, these brunch spots serve excellent late morning meals all year long.

Olivia’s Café – Disney’s Old Key West Resort

Location: Disney’s Old Key West Resort near Disney Springs
Brunch Availability: Breakfast and lunch served daily

Olivia’s Café has a laid back Key West feel and consistently delivers some of the best comfort food on property. Favorites include banana bread French toast, crab cake eggs benedict, and Southern style classics. While they do not always offer a formal Easter brunch, it is a wonderful alternative if holiday reservations are unavailable.

Transportation tip: Take a boat from Disney Springs or a bus from a theme park.

Grand Floridian Café – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Location: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on the monorail line
Brunch Availability: Breakfast and lunch served daily until early afternoon

This restaurant feels elegant but approachable, with bright, airy decor. You will find brunch style dishes year round, such as lobster eggs benedict, buttermilk chicken and waffles, and fresh pastries. While they do not always have a large scale specialty Easter brunch menu, the setting alone makes it feel like a holiday celebration.

Final reminder: If Easter brunch is a priority for your trip, plan ahead and be ready at your 60 day booking window. Holiday dining at Disney is competitive, and these limited engagement menus are some of the first reservations to disappear.

Disney Springs: The Brunch Capital of Walt Disney World

If you are staying off property, planning a resort only day, or simply want to avoid park crowds on Easter weekend, Disney Springs is one of the best places for brunch. Unlike park dining, many Disney Springs restaurants operate independently, which means you can often book reservations well in advance through OpenTable in addition to checking availability in the My Disney Experience app. That flexibility can be a huge advantage during busy holiday weekends.

Brunch at Disney Springs is available year round at several locations, and many of these spots feel just as festive as a park meal without the theme park ticket requirement.

The BOATHOUSE
Location: The Landing, waterfront at Disney Springs

You already know this is one of our favorites. We love to eat at The BOATHOUSE and the food is so good every single time. The setting alone makes it special. You are right on the water with boats docked nearby, and on a sunny spring morning it just feels like a celebration.

Their Captain’s Sing Along Brunch pairs classic favorites like eggs benedict and steak frites with live piano entertainment. The portions are generous, the seafood is fresh, and even the simple dishes feel elevated. It is upbeat but still relaxed, which makes it perfect for families or a slower Easter morning before heading out for the day. If you can grab patio seating, do it.

Reservations are strongly recommended, especially on holiday weekends, and you can usually secure them well in advance through OpenTable.

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’
Location: The Landing, Disney Springs

Rise and Shine Brunch at Homecomin’ is a must if you love Southern comfort food. Think fried chicken and doughnuts, shrimp and grits, farmhouse hash, and house made biscuits. It is hearty, indulgent, and full of bold flavors. The vibe is warm and welcoming, and it consistently ranks as one of the most popular brunch spots at Disney Springs.

This one books quickly for Easter weekend, so plan to reserve as soon as possible on OpenTable or My Disney Experience.

Wine Bar George
Location: Near the Lime Garage at Disney Springs

Wine Bar George offers a Wine Country Brunch that feels elevated but cozy. Expect brunch boards, burrata, pastries, and thoughtful wine pairings. It is a fantastic option for couples or adults looking for a more relaxed, refined brunch experience. The outdoor seating overlooking Disney Springs is especially beautiful in the spring.

Reservations can be made well ahead of time through OpenTable.

Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant
Location: The Landing, Disney Springs

Raglan Road’s Rollicking Raglan Brunch brings Irish flair to your morning with live music and dancers alongside traditional and modern pub fare. You will find Irish breakfast plates, pancakes, burgers, and creative twists on brunch classics. It is lively and high energy, which can be great for larger groups or families who want built in entertainment.

Like the others, Raglan Road accepts reservations on OpenTable and tends to fill up on holiday weekends.

If you are visiting for Easter and cannot secure a resort brunch, or you simply prefer to skip the theme park crowds, Disney Springs brunch is such a smart alternative. You do not need a park ticket, parking is available in the garages, and being able to book through OpenTable well in advance gives you more flexibility and control over your plans.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Mini Golf Set Up at Easter

Resort-Specific Easter Activities

In past years, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has hosted special family events during Easter weekend that truly elevate a resort stay. Think elegant spring crafts set up in the lobby, lawn games on the manicured grounds, organized egg hunts, and even surprise character appearances dressed in their Sunday best. It feels very on brand for the Grand Floridian. Polished, festive, and thoughtfully done.

These experiences are typically exclusive to resort guests and take place throughout Easter weekend. Offerings can vary from year to year, and 2025 details are still to be announced, but if you are staying at the Grand Floridian or any Disney resort, there is an easy way to stay informed.

When you check in, be sure to grab the monthly Recreation Activities Sheet. This is usually available at the front desk, concierge desk, or near the lobby entrance. It is a colorful handout that outlines all the special events, crafts, poolside games, and holiday activities happening at that specific resort for the month.

Around Easter, you will often see things like:

Egg hunts or bunny hops on the resort lawns
Easter themed Movies Under the Stars
Springtime pool parties with DJs and organized games
Seasonal craft stations for kids
Occasionally, resort exclusive character appearances

One important thing to remember is that these activity sheets are resort specific. What is happening at the Grand Floridian may look very different from what is happening at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Each resort’s recreation team builds its own calendar based on theme, staffing, and guest demand.

If you are planning a resort only Easter stay, these events can absolutely make your holiday feel special without ever stepping foot in a park. It is one of the most underrated ways to experience seasonal magic at Walt Disney World.

Pro tip: As your trip approaches, you can call your resort directly or ask at the front desk upon arrival for the most updated Recreation Activities Sheet. Some resorts will even email it to you a few days before your stay if you request it.

🧺 Easter Baskets at Walt Disney World

There are multiple magical ways to have an Easter basket delivered right to your Disney resort room.

Disney Floral & Gifts
The Easter Bunny has been known to partner with Disney Floral & Gifts, the official in house florist for Walt Disney World, to deliver custom themed Easter baskets directly to resort rooms. You can choose from options filled with sweet treats, plush characters, themed merchandise, and park inspired goodies. Many of the baskets can be customized based on age, favorite characters, or dietary preferences. Orders should be placed in advance, especially for Easter weekend, as availability can be limited.

Resort Gift Shops
Many Deluxe and Moderate resort gift shops offer pre made Easter baskets for purchase in the days leading up to Easter Sunday. These are typically filled with candy, small toys, and seasonal Disney items. Availability varies by resort and supplies are limited, so if you see one you love, grab it.

Tip: Call your resort’s front desk ahead of your arrival to ask about Easter basket availability, delivery timing, and ordering options. If you are planning a surprise for your kids, placing a custom order in advance is always the safest option.

Easter Treats Around the Resort

Easter delights are on the way to Walt Disney World. Disney’s culinary teams always pull out their springtime best, and every year the resort transforms into a pastel filled showcase of limited time treats and themed desserts.

Disney consistently releases a seasonal Easter foodie guide on the Disney Parks Blog highlighting new and returning items across the parks and resorts. It has become a true eggs travaganza, filled with sweet surprises, character inspired desserts, and beautifully decorated confections that are only available for a short time.

Here are just a few examples of the kinds of must try items you will typically see during the Easter season:

  • Bunny themed dirt cups layered with chocolate pudding, crushed cookies, and candy toppers at quick service locations throughout the resorts.

  • Character inspired cake bars and petit cakes at specialty bakeries like Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs.

  • Pastel colored Easter egg macarons at resort cafés such as Le Petit Café at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

  • Seasonal cupcakes, mousse domes, and spring inspired pastries at quick service and table service restaurants across property.

You will also find a range of limited time goodies at resort food courts, lobby cafés, and select park bakeries. Availability varies by location and dates, so checking the Disney Parks Blog closer to Easter is always the best way to see what is being offered during your trip.

If seasonal snacks are part of your Disney tradition, Easter is one of the sweetest times of year to visit.

  • Magic Kingdom: Think carrot cake, marshmallow eggs, and bunny-themed cupcakes.

  • Deluxe Resort bakeries: Especially at Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and BoardWalk Inn, where spring sweets get the royal treatment.

  • Disney Springs: Specialty chocolate, cookies, and cakes at The Ganachery, Amorette’s Patisserie, and Gideon’s Bakehouse.

For the full list of treats, check the Disney Parks Blog Foodie Guide, usually released about 2–3 weeks before the holiday weekend. These treats are available for a limited time, so if something catches your eye, be sure to grab it while it lasts!

Easter Services at Walt Disney World (TBD)

Prior to 2020, Easter Sunday services, both Catholic and Protestant, were traditionally held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, typically inside the Fantasia Ballroom on Easter morning. It was a meaningful option for guests who wanted to attend church services while still enjoying their Disney vacation.

These on site Easter services have not officially returned in recent years, but there is still hope. Disney has slowly brought back select holiday offerings across the resort, and we have seen other seasonal services return at different times of year. That gives many families optimism that Easter services could return in the future.

As of now, nothing has been formally announced regarding their return, so if attending an on property Easter service is important to your family, the best approach is to stay tuned to Disney’s official communications as the holiday approaches. You can also check with your resort concierge or front desk closer to your travel dates for the most up to date information.

Easter at Disney is a Springtime Dream

Whether you are there for the food, the characters, or simply the pastel themed atmosphere, Easter at Walt Disney World is packed with magical moments that truly bring the season to life. Between floral displays, egg hunts, chocolate artistry, festive brunches, and limited time treats, there is something for every Disney loving family to enjoy.

And let’s talk about the time of year, because March and April at Walt Disney World are honestly some of the most beautiful months to visit. Temperatures are typically warm but not yet sweltering, with daytime highs often in the 70s and 80s. Mornings can feel crisp and comfortable, and evenings are perfect for fireworks without the heavy summer humidity. The skies tend to be bright and clear, and the landscaping across property is in full bloom.

Spring also means the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival is underway, which adds even more color and life to the parks. The topiaries, fresh flower beds, outdoor kitchens, and garden displays create a completely different atmosphere than other times of year. Everything feels vibrant and new.

Of course, spring break crowds can peak depending on when Easter falls, so planning ahead is key. Book dining reservations at your 60 day window, secure park reservations if needed, and watch for announcements about limited time entertainment and offerings.

Be sure to plan early, keep an eye on official Disney updates, and do not forget to pack your bunny ears.
