If you know me, you know I am a full blown girl’s girl. I love the sparkle, the dresses, the details, the magic. Princesses are absolutely my thing, and planning princess themed Disney trips is one of my favorite ways to create unforgettable memories for families.

Yes, you can sprinkle princess moments into any Walt Disney World vacation. But if you are dreaming of a trip that feels completely royal from start to finish, there is a way to do it intentionally. From character dining experiences to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique transformations, from castle views to princess meet and greets, Disney has so many ways to lean fully into the fairytale.

This is your guide to planning the ultimate princess vacation at Walt Disney World. Whether you are traveling with a little one who believes the magic is real or you are a grown up who still tears up during the castle fireworks, we are about to build a trip that feels worthy of royalty.

Stay in the Royal Guest Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside

For the ultimate princess experience, book a stay in the Royal Guest Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside. These rooms are inspired by Princess Tiana and her story in New Orleans, but the design thoughtfully weaves in details from other beloved princesses like Ariel, Jasmine, and Belle. The moment you step inside, it feels different from a standard resort room. The color palette is rich and elegant. The artwork tells subtle princess stories. And the headboards are the true showstopper. With the push of a button, they light up and twinkle like fireworks over a royal celebration. It is one of those small Disney touches that feels absolutely magical at the end of a long park day.

The theming does not feel over the top or cartoonish. It feels elevated and immersive. The furniture has ornate detailing, the fabrics feel regal, and even the bathroom accents continue the royal aesthetic. For little ones who are deep in their princess era, coming back to this room at night feels like an extension of the parks. For adults, it feels charming and thoughtfully designed rather than overwhelming.

Beyond the room itself, Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside adds to the fairytale atmosphere. The resort is set along the Sassagoula River, with tree lined pathways, gas lamps, and Southern style architecture that feels peaceful and romantic. The main pool, Ol’ Man Island, features a waterslide and splash area that kids love, and you can even book horse drawn carriage rides through the property in the evenings. It truly feels like a storybook setting.

Because these rooms are incredibly popular, especially with families planning princess focused trips, I always recommend booking as early as possible. Six months in advance is a smart goal, particularly if you are traveling during spring break, summer, or the holidays. Availability can disappear quickly.

The Royal Guest Rooms accommodate up to four guests, so if you are traveling with a larger family, you may need to reserve multiple rooms or explore other room categories at Port Orleans Riverside. If you are unsure whether it is the right fit, watching a full room tour beforehand can be incredibly helpful. Seeing the layout, storage space, and those iconic glowing headboards in action makes it easier to decide.

Get a Magical Makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

No princess vacation is complete without a visit to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. This is the ultimate transformation experience and one of the most memorable moments you can build into a princess focused trip.

Located inside Magic Kingdom and at Disney Springs, this enchanting salon offers a variety of makeover packages that transform guests into their favorite princess or even a knight. Packages can include a costume, hairstyling, makeup, nail polish, and accessories. Watching your child spin around in the mirror for the first time, fully dressed and styled, is a core memory kind of moment. Cast Members treat each guest like royalty, and the attention to detail makes the experience feel truly special.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is considered an Enchanted Extra, which means reservations open at midnight Eastern Time, 60 days before your check in date. Appointments book quickly, especially during peak seasons like spring break and summer. Setting an alarm for that booking window is absolutely worth it if this experience is high on your list.

You can book multiple children in the same reservation, which helps if you are hoping for siblings to have appointments close together. If your schedule allows flexibility, consider booking later in your trip. Availability can sometimes be better once the initial rush of early week reservations fills.

Reservations can be made directly through the My Disney Experience app or on the Walt Disney World website under the Things to Do section. If your child has been dreaming of becoming Cinderella, Elsa, Tiana, or another beloved character, this experience delivers in a big way. There is even a Knight package available for princes who want to join the royal adventure.

If you want a full breakdown of packages, pricing, and what to expect, we cover everything in our detailed Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique overview so you can plan with confidence.

Dine Like Royalty at Princess Character Meals

If you want to meet multiple princesses in one place without standing in several attraction lines, princess character dining is the way to do it. These experiences allow your child to interact, hug, take photos, and have unhurried conversations while you sit comfortably at a table. It is one of the most efficient and magical ways to build princess moments into your trip.

Walt Disney World currently offers two signature princess dining experiences that truly feel royal.

Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom

Cinderella’s Royal Table is located inside Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, which alone makes it unforgettable. Dining inside the castle is a bucket list moment for many families. Before your meal, you will typically meet Cinderella for photos in the Grand Hall. Then you are escorted upstairs into a medieval style banquet hall with stained glass windows, soaring ceilings, and views overlooking Fantasyland.

Throughout your meal, several princesses visit your table for individual interactions. The lineup can vary, but often includes favorites like Ariel, Aurora, Jasmine, or Snow White alongside Cinderella. The experience is offered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a prix fixe menu that includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert for adults.

The setting is elegant, immersive, and especially magical for children who just completed a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique transformation. Walking into the castle dressed like royalty feels like stepping into a real life fairytale. If you are planning to pair this with a makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, I recommend scheduling the boutique earlier in the day so your child can arrive fully transformed for their royal banquet.

You can read our full breakdown of Cinderella’s Royal Table, including menu details and whether it is worth the price, in our dedicated blog post.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at EPCOT

Located in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall offers a slightly different but equally magical experience. The restaurant is inspired by a Norwegian castle, with stone archways, wooden beams, and a cozy royal atmosphere.

Princesses rotate through the dining room, often including Belle in her classic blue village dress, Snow White, Aurora, and Ariel. The lineup can change, but it is typically a strong mix of classic princesses. Like Cinderella’s Royal Table, Akershus offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a prix fixe format.

What makes Akershus unique is its blend of traditional American favorites with Norwegian inspired dishes. It feels culturally immersive while still being approachable for families with selective eaters.

If you are planning to do Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom and then dine at Akershus the same day, you will need a park hopper ticket since EPCOT is a different park. We have done this pairing before and documented it on our YouTube channel, and it truly creates a full princess day from start to finish.

We also have a detailed Akershus dining review on the blog that walks through character interactions, menu highlights, and tips for booking.

Booking Tips for Princess Dining

Princess dining reservations are highly sought after and can be difficult to secure, especially during peak seasons like spring break, summer, and the holidays. Dining reservations open 60 days before your check in date, and popular times can disappear quickly.

If you do not see availability at first, set up dining alerts through a reservation monitoring service. Cancellations happen frequently, and alerts can help you grab a reservation that opens up.

Pairing Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with a princess character meal is one of the most magical ways to design a royal day. It does take planning, flexibility, and sometimes a little persistence with reservations. But when your child walks into a castle dressed like their favorite princess and is greeted by royalty at the table, the effort feels completely worth it.

Meet Princesses at Fairytale Hall

Head to Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom to meet beloved princesses like Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, and Elena. This beautiful hall has two meeting areas, each featuring different princesses, so check your Disney app for up-to-date schedules. The setting is regal and refined, making every princess meet-and-greet feel extra special.

Explore EPCOT’s World Showcase for Princess Meet-and-Greets

If you are building a princess focused vacation, EPCOT’s World Showcase is one of the most underrated and rewarding places to spend your time. Unlike traditional character lines in Magic Kingdom, many of the princesses here greet guests in their cultural home pavilions, which makes the experience feel immersive and authentic.

In one afternoon, you can meet multiple princesses while strolling around the lagoon. It is efficient, interactive, and beautifully themed.

Here is where you will typically find them:

  • Snow White in the Germany Pavilion

  • Mulan in the China Pavilion

  • Belle in the France Pavilion

  • Jasmine in the Morocco Pavilion

  • Anna and Elsa in the Norway Pavilion at Royal Sommerhus

Each setting adds to the magic. Meeting Belle near the fountain in France feels like stepping into her provincial village. Seeing Mulan in China gives the interaction a storytelling depth that feels tied to her heritage. Anna and Elsa greet inside a charming Norwegian cabin space that feels straight out of Arendelle.

One of the biggest advantages of princess meet and greets in EPCOT is that you can pair them with snacks, shopping, and festival booths along the way. Grab a pastry in France, explore the Mitsukoshi department store in Japan, sample a treat during Flower and Garden Festival, and turn the entire afternoon into a relaxed princess tour around the world.

A few important planning notes. The best times to meet them are early in the day shortly after park opening or later in the evening when crowds begin to thin. Mid afternoon can see longer waits, especially during peak seasons like spring break.

Always check the My Disney Experience app the morning of your visit for exact meet and greet locations and times. Princess schedules can shift slightly depending on the day.

And here is a little extra magic that many families do not realize. During special weekends, including Valentine’s Day weekend, you may occasionally see princesses accompanied by their princes. Seeing couples like Cinderella and Prince Charming or Aurora and Prince Phillip together creates an entirely different kind of royal moment and makes for incredible photos. These appearances are not guaranteed year round, but when they happen, they are truly special.

Princess Rides and Royal Experiences at Every Park

If you are building a princess themed vacation, you will want to go beyond meet and greets and dining. Each park offers attractions, shows, and entertainment that bring princess stories to life in different ways. Thoughtfully weaving these into your park days creates a fully immersive royal experience.

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is the centerpiece of any princess vacation and offers the largest concentration of princess inspired attractions.

Under the Sea Journey of The Little Mermaid takes you through Ariel’s story in a colorful, music filled dark ride featuring scenes and songs from the animated film. It is gentle, family friendly, and a great first stop for little princess fans.

Enchanted Tales with Belle is an interactive storytelling experience inside Beast’s Castle. Guests step into Maurice’s cottage, are magically transported to the castle library, and become part of Belle’s story. Children may be selected for special roles, which makes this feel more personal than a traditional attraction.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ties into Snow White’s story and offers a slightly more thrilling experience while still staying within the princess fairytale world.

And of course, simply spending time in Fantasyland, walking past Cinderella Castle, and catching princess meet and greets throughout the park adds layers to the magic.

EPCOT

EPCOT blends princess stories with cultural immersion.

Frozen Ever After in the Norway Pavilion is one of the most popular princess attractions across all four parks. This boat ride takes guests through Arendelle, featuring Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and a stunning ice palace finale. Wait times can climb quickly, so plan for early morning or a Lightning Lane strategy.

Beyond rides, EPCOT’s World Showcase offers some of the best princess meet and greet opportunities in their cultural homes. Snow White in Germany, Mulan in China, Belle in France, Jasmine in Morocco, and Anna and Elsa in Norway all provide meaningful and beautifully themed interactions.

During special weekends, including Valentine’s Day weekend, princesses have occasionally appeared alongside their princes, adding an extra layer of fairytale romance to the experience. While not guaranteed year round, these appearances create unforgettable photo opportunities when they occur.

Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios brings princess stories to life through live entertainment.

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage is a Broadway style retelling of the animated classic, complete with elaborate costumes, choreography, and beloved songs. It is a perfect mid day break that still keeps you in princess mode.

Fantasmic is the park’s nighttime spectacular and features appearances from multiple princesses, including Elsa, Moana, Ariel, Belle, and Snow White. Seeing them appear during the climactic battle scene adds an emotional and dramatic finish to your day.

Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom does not currently offer princess themed rides, but it does provide strong princess character experiences.

Guests can meet Moana at Character Landing on Discovery Island in a dedicated meet and greet location that reflects her adventurous island spirit.

You can also meet Pocahontas along The Oasis trails near the front of the park. The natural setting fits beautifully with her story and often feels slightly less hectic than character lines deeper in the park.

Character meet and greets at Animal Kingdom are not part of Lightning Lane selections, so visiting early in the day is your best strategy.

Other Princess Moments You Should Not Miss

Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom features stunning floats carrying princesses such as Rapunzel, Belle, Cinderella, and Tiana. Seeing them glide down Main Street in full regalia feels cinematic and celebratory. Always check the My Disney Experience app for parade times.

Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios, mentioned above, layers in multiple princess appearances and delivers a powerful ending to a princess focused day.

During EPCOT’s International Flower and Garden Festival, you will find beautifully crafted topiaries of princesses such as Belle, Snow White, and Anna and Elsa. These floral sculptures create stunning photo opportunities and make spring visits feel even more magical.

When you combine rides, meet and greets, parades, stage shows, and seasonal extras across all four parks, your vacation becomes more than a collection of attractions. It becomes a fully woven fairytale that follows your family from rope drop to fireworks.

RunDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

If you want to take your princess vacation to the next level, consider planning your trip around the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, which typically takes place in late February at Walt Disney World.

This multi day event includes a variety of race distances, making it accessible whether you are a seasoned runner or just want to participate for fun. The weekend usually features a 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon, along with challenge options for those who want to complete multiple races. Each race is princess themed, and the medals are some of the most beautifully designed collectibles runDisney offers.

What makes this weekend so special is the atmosphere. Thousands of runners dress as their favorite princesses, princes, sidekicks, and villains. You will see elaborate costumes inspired by Cinderella, Tiana, Rapunzel, Moana, and more. Even spectators join in the fun by wearing themed outfits and cheering along the course. It feels less like a traditional race and more like a royal celebration.

The courses often wind through the parks, offering rare early morning views and character photo stops along the route. It is one of the few ways to see Walt Disney World before regular park opening, which makes it incredibly memorable.

If you are considering participating, registration is something you need to plan for carefully. Princess Half Marathon Weekend registration typically opens in the summer of the previous year, often around June or July. Exact dates are announced by runDisney in advance, and races frequently sell out quickly, sometimes within hours depending on the distance. Setting calendar reminders and being ready when registration opens is essential if this event is on your bucket list.

If running is not your thing, you can still enjoy the weekend. Resorts may feel more energetic with runners preparing early in the morning, and you will see participants proudly wearing their medals throughout the parks. It adds a festive, empowering energy to the entire resort.

Whether you run the 5K in a tutu or simply cheer from the sidelines, the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is a truly unique way to blend athletic achievement with fairytale magic. And earning a princess themed medal might just become the most meaningful souvenir of your trip.

Creating Your Perfect Princess Itinerary

A princess themed Walt Disney World vacation is all about intentional magic. It is not just about seeing a character once. It is about building an experience that feels immersive from the moment you arrive until the day you head home. Here is a sample itinerary you can customize to fit your family.

Day 1: Arrival and Royal Check In

Arrive at Walt Disney World and check into your Royal Guest Room at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside. Take time to explore the resort grounds, walk along the Sassagoula River, and settle in without rushing to a park.

Consider having a princess themed gift delivered to your resort room so your child walks into a surprise. This could be a dress, accessories, or a small welcome basket to kick off the royal adventure.

Keep the evening relaxed. A calm first night sets the tone for the rest of the trip.

Day 2: Full Magic Kingdom Princess Day

Start your morning with a transformation at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Booking this early in your trip allows your child to enjoy their hairstyle and royal glow for several days. It also makes every photo for the rest of the vacation feel extra special.

After the makeover, head into Magic Kingdom for princess attractions like Under the Sea Journey of The Little Mermaid and Enchanted Tales with Belle. Visit Princess Fairytale Hall to meet Cinderella, Rapunzel, and other rotating princesses.

End your day with dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table inside the castle. If you can time it so you are dining during fireworks, it becomes an unforgettable memory. Seeing the castle sparkle while dressed as royalty is pure magic.

Day 3: EPCOT Princess Tour Around the World

Head to EPCOT and begin your morning in Norway. Meet Anna and Elsa early, as this line can build quickly. During lower crowd periods it may hover around 30 minutes, but during peak seasons and holidays it can climb much higher.

Ride Frozen Ever After before wait times increase, then work your way around World Showcase meeting princesses in their cultural homes. Belle in France, Snow White in Germany, Jasmine in Morocco, and Mulan in China create a beautiful global princess experience.

Plan lunch or dinner at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall so you can meet multiple princesses in one setting while enjoying a relaxed meal.

Day 4: Royal Rest Day

Build in a true rest day. Sleep in and enjoy a slower morning, then head to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. This character dining experience features beloved royalty like Cinderella and Tiana in a charming, storybook setting. It is the perfect way to keep the princess magic going without stepping into a park.

After breakfast, enjoy your resort pool, explore Disney Springs, or book a carriage ride back at Port Orleans Riverside. Rest days prevent burnout and allow everyone to reset before the final stretch of your trip while still feeling special and intentional.

Day 5: Adventure Meets Fairytale

Start your morning at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Meet Moana at Character Landing and Pocahontas along The Oasis trails early in the day before lines grow.

In the afternoon or evening, head to Hollywood Studios. Catch Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage for a Broadway style retelling of the classic story. End your night with Fantasmic, where multiple princesses appear during the climactic finale.

Day 6: Farewell to the Kingdom

Enjoy a slow breakfast, take final photos, and soak in those last magical moments before heading home. Consider one final princess meet and greet or castle photo before you leave.

With thoughtful planning, your princess vacation becomes more than a checklist. It becomes a layered experience filled with royal accommodations, character transformations, cultural exploration, and unforgettable storytelling moments.

And the best part is watching your child believe, even just for a few days, that they truly are royalty.

World Princess Week at Disney World

My Friends Daughter is the sweet princess in this campaign! Follow @expeditionwatson!

Every August, Walt Disney World celebrates World Princess Week, a special tribute to the courage, kindness, and strength of Disney Princesses. It is a reminder that princess stories are not just about castles and gowns. They are about bravery, perseverance, leadership, and believing in something bigger than yourself. Through Disney’s storytelling, we have watched princesses pursue their dreams, protect their families, stand up for what is right, and carve their own paths. There is something in each journey that resonates, whether you are five or fifty.

During World Princess Week, the parks lean into that magic in subtle and celebratory ways. At Magic Kingdom, Cinderella Castle often features themed enhancements that honor the princess legacy. Character meet and greets may include special touches, and you may find additional princess appearances or themed photo opportunities throughout the parks. It creates a festive atmosphere without overwhelming your itinerary.

Limited time princess themed treats are another highlight of the week. Across the parks and resorts, you will find specialty cupcakes, desserts, and whimsical snacks inspired by beloved characters. Disney’s merchandise also reflects the celebration, with princess inspired apparel, accessories, and keepsakes that allow guests to take a little bit of the magic home.

World Princess Week is ultimately a celebration of what these characters represent. From Merida’s independence to Tiana’s work ethic, from Mulan’s courage to Moana’s adventurous spirit, each princess teaches something powerful. It is a beautiful reminder that being a princess is not about a crown. It is about character, strength, and the willingness to follow your own story wherever it leads.

Princess Fun at home

The best part about a princess vacation is that it does not have to end when you leave Walt Disney World. We love finding simple ways to keep that magic alive long after the suitcases are unpacked.

One of our favorite traditions is baking from our Disney princess recipe books. There is something so fun about bringing the stories into our own kitchen. We have made Rapunzel inspired pancakes, ocean themed cupcakes for Ariel, and Tiana inspired treats that nod to her love of cooking. It turns an ordinary afternoon into a themed experience and gives kids ownership in creating a little bit of magic themselves.

We have also attended the Disney Princess Concert Series, a touring show that brings the music of Disney Princess films to life in cities across the United States. The production features powerhouse vocalists performing iconic songs from classics like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, and more. It feels nostalgic and empowering at the same time. Families sing along, relive their favorite moments, and experience the storytelling in a completely different format. If the tour comes near you, it is absolutely worth looking into.

At home, we also keep things interactive. I created a Princess and Friends Bingo game that we use for family game nights. It is a free downloadable activity that adds laughter and friendly competition while celebrating princess stories. As we play, we end up talking about our favorite park memories, the characters we met, and the lessons each princess represents.

Whether we are baking, attending a live concert, or playing themed games at home, these small rituals keep the joy going. They remind us that the magic of Disney princesses is not limited to the parks. It lives in imagination, creativity, courage, and connection. And that kind of magic can show up in everyday life whenever we choose to bring it in.
